[COLOR=Red]well im the first to vote, went with serpentor. i dont see how anyone could really vote for duke, BUT, like my older cousin there are those here who will not, no matter what vote for a bad guy. i honestly see duke winning this contest just because people want to see good win over evil, not because its what they think in their heads.[/COLOR]

i want to be realistic here..a guy made up of some of history's greatest warriors and tacticians is not going to lose this fight if duke faces off against Serpentor it's with the knowledge that hes going to die but maybe in his death free Scarlett ffrom Cobras mind control..there is no way Duke wins this fight if he does its cause people want to see the good guy beat the bad guy but you know it doesn't always go that way victory goes to the superior fighter and in this case that is Serpentor

Okay-I picked Duke-but let me tell you-I see Duke differently than some people do-as much as I love the 'toon,I don't see him as "The Nice Guy Leader"-I see him as a hard-stripe Command Sergeant Major US Army Green Beret who's seen more combat than most soldiers ever will! :cool:

And Serpentor is tough-and a great strategist-but he ain't God-he's got a temper,he's full of himself-and he ain't bulletproof!

I see Duke making a solo HALO insert and infiltrating Cobra Island-sneaking in the ventilators in the Terror Drome.He avoids most of the Cobra sentries-except for the Crimson Guard he steals a uniform from.Waiting for shift change,he infiltrates the Throne Room and pops CS tear-and-vomit gas-the guards are wearing masks,maybe-but Serpy ain't! ;) Duke shoots Serpentor in the head and then shoots the rest of the surprised guards-one of them in the kneecap!He then "convinces" the kneecapped guard to tell him Scarlett's location.Remaining in the Cobra uniform he pretends to be a Guard "summoning" Scarlett to help against the infiltrator-and then knocks her out with his rifle-butt.

Escaping in a hot-wired Moray Hydrofoil-Duke takes Scarlett to the USS Flagg-waiting three miles off-shore.There,Doc and Psyche-Out begin the process of Scarlett's de-programming and recovery. :cool:

I think I made it pretty obvious who I voted for. Although I'm not really a fan of the film for a few reasons, I still think Serpentor would crush Duke.

This is a tough call, but I went with Serpentor. Although the posts are very insightful and creative.

We know in the toon this already happened and Serpentor moved on while Duke got carted off. Not a direct comparison, but it would similarly apply what Storm Shadow said of his uncle, the Hard Master: "His compassion was his greatest weakness. It was also his greatest strength."

That being said, caring about a team-mate is highly motivating, but also distracting if this is coming to a man v. man fight.

I could see Capt. Max's theory coming true with Duke saying something like "Just like a Cobra to bring a poison snake dart to a gunfight..." right before he caps him in the head.

But in my scenario Duke and Serpentor would get down into the thralls of the weaponless fight, without either side taking true advantage. Then Scarlett has a moment to decide who to help. CLUNK! She whacks him in the head from behind. And he crumples before the mighty Serpentor. He is then hauled away to the dungeon...and another Joe will need to be summoned to rescue Scarlett and Duke.... :eek: I always prefer good to win over evil...and in the end good WILL prevail...but in this round...Duke's blood darkens the carpet of Serpentor's throne room....To be continued....

[COLOR=Red]ok, heres my version of the story like max did.

hawk says its to risky to send a team of joes to help scarlett. duke and snake eyes the two who love her set out on their own. they hang-glide to the top of the castle where they spot a lone CG. duke lands behind him and creeps up for the kill. snake eyes jumps on the ledge to get his attention, but not being the real ninja he thinks he is slips and falls 150 feet to his death. the CG hears duke and turns and hit him with the butt of his gun. duke realizes he must hurry back to his feet, BLAM BLAM BLAM!!! duke is dead.

the CG goes and tells serpentor about how he caught duke and shot him and threw snake eyes from the castle. the CG is awarded the highest cobra honors and given the codename of eric the red(a character of mine). serpentor also gives him scarlett as his wife with the understanding that she must bear serpentors children. within 3 years scarlett bears serpentor 3 children. 2 boys, maximus and octavius and one daughter, aphrodite.

19 years later cobra defeats GI Joe, killing or capturing all member, except quick kick(HA!). within 3 years after cobra conquers the entire world. as ruler of the world serpentor starts to rebuild the world into a better place. no more war as there is now only one nation. no famine as he sends food to the lands living in poverty. crime is cut by 70% as the fear of what will happen to anyone breaking the law and the fact that in this almost perfect world serpentor makes all wages almost equal. pollution is cut by 82% and the ozone begins to heal itself with help from the scientist ordered by serpentor. many animals are brought back from the oint of extinction. the whole eco system benefits. soon serentor is loved by the world and acknowledge as the savior of the planet.

many, many years later as serpentor reaches the end of his life, he sits atop his beautiful built for him by the people of the world, not from fear, but out of love. he watches a golden sunset and realizes that he has had a good life. he loves this world and altough sad to leave it behind, he knows it is in good hands. all hail serpentor, THIS I COMMAND!!![/COLOR]
