Comic packs for GI Joe seem to be coming pack. Those in the know already know that they are now 2-packs and not 3-packs. HISSTANK.COM apparently has the 1st fotos of what's to come and uh... Just how many ways can Hasbro find a way to piss off Outrider and GIJock?

Visit HissTank.com for pics (http://www.joebattlelines.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14111)

I'm not overly excited.

Well, they've just found another one. ANOTHER Snake Eyes...ANOTHER Storm Shadow...ANOTHER Cobra Commander, etc, and what's more, in lovely bright colours...prepare for the second neon age! It has just become laughable, and I'm insulted that Hasbro would even imagine that I would waste 50c on cr@p like that. The sad thing is I'm not even surprised - I actually expect this sort of thing now.

The only figure I'll be after from this wave is the Hawk figure. The rest, like most people who already have the first 2 battle packs, I'll pass on. If you think about it, this isn't really a bad idea. Those collectors that passed on the battle packs due to $$ or maybe there were only 1 or 2 figures that they really wanted can now get them in these 2-packs.

Hawk looks decent and makes sense. That blue snake eyes looks good. The rest is brightly colored garbage  . At least we are getting a doc mail away. I wonder how they will screw that one up.

 Man I really need this Hawk!!! Wonderful version :D

General Scarlett

I really wish that I could put this Scarlett head on the original body........... :(

Thank God I've got my 'G.I. Jane'.........now all I need is 'Bombstrike' (see? I didn't even call her what I usually do!)..........

Oh, the comic packs?? We'll see, I mean it is 'G.I. Joe', so I do want to keep it on the shelves.....but these, well, they're going to do what the rest of the 25th line has been doing.........collecting dust.......articulated to all get out, BUT not very 'playable'........ :(

i have hope for the 25th line, give it time and it might surprise everyone, i'll buy these just to get doc and to keep the line going with the hope that it will get better with time

It's too bad they didn't fix the problems. Like cutting some of Scar's waist piece so she could sit and whatnot. I don't have a problem them doing comic packs and even changing them to 2-packs. It's the choice of characters involved. Would it be that hard to do a #20 w/ Clutch and Cobra Trooper? What about $16 and do Hawk and Venom (or CC or Destro or Scarface)? The latter 2-packs look like a rehash of JvC to me.

I'll say it......

Pay attention Hasbro;

"WAYS TO GET ME TO BUY GI JOES"
OR
"HOW TO SAVE THE GI JOE LINE IF THAT'S REALLY WHAT YOU WANNA DO;"

1.) Quit producing s**t! Get rid of the crappy Microman knock off and go back to RAH figures (I miss my "O" ring)

2.) Quit producing the same 7-8 figures in 1,000 different versions! (I have 17 versions of Snake eyes, 14 Dukes, 11 Storm Shadows, 12 Hawks, 13 Scarletts, 9 Destros and 9 Baronesses!) I only have one Wraith (which I made myself) no Red Shadows, no MAyday, No Munitia, ...startin to get the fricken Idea?

Hasbro.....you can only sell the same figures rehashed so many times before collectors (and eventually kids who don't know any better ) get sick of it and quit buying your crap...ask "The Power Rangers" about that!!!
Ninja club Techno Power Rangers...WTF???

Regarding the bright colors-- Well, that's just how they were colored in the comics, so you can't blame Hasbro for that.

I do think it's kind of silly to have these repaints so soon, but I get the feeling that, just as they rushed the first wave of single-packs into production due to strong retailer support, they're probably doing the same with these-- Hence a bunch of straight-up repaints. People with inside knowledge over on HISSTank seem to be implying that the second wave of these guys is going to be much more exciting.

As far as the figures themselves-- Hawk, as has been stated by many, is a winner. Except I don't know why he's wearing gloves. But that can't ruin the figure for me. I'll definitely get that pack, even though it comes with a Scarlett that's virtually identical to the five-pack version. Duke and Cobra Commander, I'll pass on. I would've gotten it if they'd re-tooled the original Comic Pack Duke's head and put it on this body, though. Storm-Shadow is missing all the gold trim that many people had complaints about, so that's actually kind of cool. And if Snake-Eyes had glove-less hands, he'd look just like his character design from the original G.I. Joe cartoon mini-series, so I might have to get that pack just to do that to him.

Frank, you certainly have a way with words! My thoughts exactly....

The comics included have new cover art, which is...kinda strange. They went to that effort, but there's one new head mold out of 6 figures.

It's hard not to look at these comic packs and think "useless versions of mostly useless versions of characters". If they could, you know SIT DOWN, they might have merit. How lame is it that a Hasbro product cannot do what a Corps or Power Team figure can do? And they cost around a $1.

There was no reason to even make these sets until the molds improve, if they do. It's just milking the fans...in mostly a bad way. Ten bucks or more for Hawk and Scarlett with a new hat...er....yellow belt.

If they really wanted more product out, just do a repaint wave in less day glow colors. Because it was really the characters fans wanted from the old comic packs, not the comic booky colors. (especially when they misinerpret colors, such as comic pack Destro's white gloves).

Exacltly, Lava Boss. That's why I refuse point blank to buy cr@p like this. Perhaps if enough of us ignore this insulting garbage, and it sits on shelves forever, Hasbro might get the message.

I agree with all your points other then this one. The articulation may be similar to Microman but the detailing is far beyond what Microman puts out. I look at the 25th Storm Shadow version 1 and 2 figures and everything about those figures are just plain fantastic. The sculpt and articulation are superb. Not perfect but damn close. Then you look at upcoming figs such as Beachhead and Firefly and I am just blown away by how great those figs look. These figures are everything every action figure collector could possibly hope for. Us old-school collectors just have to open our minds a bit, broaden our horizens as not to screw ourselves out of owning the definitive version of characters that we have grown to love...
