[COLOR=Red]looking through some of my old cartoons and stuff got me thinking about how great the 80's were. i know that we have some members on here who don't remember the 80's, but for those of us who do, it was the golden age. best toys, cartoons, music, everything, imo. i wanted to do as bravo did, a poll, but there wouldnt be enough choices. instead, i thought we each could list our top 20 favorite cartoons from 1st to last. the reason i went with 20 was that there are so many from the 80's. maybe ill take the 10 most picked and do a poll. i also thought i would do a different one every week. best rock band, best toy line, favorite smurf, favorite sport team or moment. but lets save those for down the road. lets first start with our favorite top 20 cartoons.to help some of us who have forgotten a lot of them, i thought i would name some.

I watched just about everything under the sun. And moon. Doesn't mean I like it all.
I heavily watched Star Blazers. KSTW would run that during the school year so us kids could get up, watch it and be off to school with an hour to spare. They would run the 1st 2 series. The trip to Gamalon and then the Comet Empire. They did this for YEARS. Robotech ended up on the Canadian station and a lot of kids coming to age latched onto that more. That was just an upstart show to me. Kinda like how TNG was an upstart to original Star Trek (NOT that I feel that way now).
GI Joe and Transformers would be the next 2 I would WANT to watch.
Thundercats, Ghostbusters, Heathcliff, He-Man... All weekday cartoons. What else would I watch? Gomer Pyle on TBS? Andy Griffith? bleh.
Never watched the female shows; Jem, She-Ra, etc.
Watched whatever was on Saturday mornings.

'toons -
G.I. Joe
Transformers
other shows
Airwolf
A-Team
Other than that, I read a lot. I taught my brother how to read by reading comic books to him. Mostly G.I. Joe and Transformers. And when I didn't recognize a word, we would look it up. Hama and his expanded vocabulary sure expanded ours....

In the early 90s, I was listening to Pantera's Cowboys From Hell! :p
Just as much as I watched cartoons, I think I liked 'real' tv shows better. Depending on what age we're talking, I watched Dukes of Hazard, Brady Bunch and CHiPs. And a year or two later, I was fully engaged in Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, and WCW wrasslin. And I grew up with Star Trek.

Other than the Dukes of Hazzard and the A-Team, I was never much into live-action as a kid.
The "serious" cartoons I remember most fondly are He-Man, Transformers, ThunderCats, Super Friends, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends and its companion Hulk show, Go-Bots, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The "comedy" cartoons I watched most were the Smurfs, plus lots of Hanna Barbera stuff from the 60s that were still in syndication in the 80s, like Scooby Doo, the Flintstones, the Jetsons, etc.
You'll note there's no G.I. Joe on my list because, as I've mentioned many times before, I didn't get into Joes until the early 90s.
