I may have to break my own rule and get a 2 pack that has one I dont care to have. I will probably pass on IG and Destro, they came after my original Gi Joe run as a kid, so they hold no nostalgia for me.

Hey ThinkTank -- if you're not interested in Nemesis Immortal but want the Falcon, I'll be happy to take Nemmy off your hands if you get the pack as he's the only one of the two *I* have any interest in! The only thing that might cause a problem is, I'd want the comic also (I'm more interested in THAT than either of the figures)...!

If you're up for it, let me know as & when you can buy the pack and we can work something out. I would offer to sell you the Falcon from a pack I bought, but being in the UK means I'm more likely to see an original '80s Falcon in a toy store than any 25th Joes...

As for the others -- why did they have to use Flash's entire body on Tripwire? Couldn't they switch out the legs and upper arms for some that don't have the pads on? Hell, I'm all for updated versions of the classic designs (I'd prefer them) but I thought they were going for reproducing the original designs as accurately as possible in the new construction style?

Nemesis Immortal..

I hate this line. I didn't mind it at first but now I really do hate it.
Nemesis Immortal is probably the lamest thing I've ever seen and I've seen alot of Action Figures. I saw Baroness from this line when they were first released and i have to say this is just as bad. Utterly Shocking.

Falcon.. oh dear what have they done with his face? You know if i found this figure at a market someplace looking at his hands and his face i'd say he was a gi joe knockoff. The colours and paint apps look cheap and lazy.. whats going on with his face too, looks like he got trout slapped!!

The IG looks great, but when will Hasbro learn, these need to be released in single packs.. nobody wants to buy 30 IG Destros all the same style!!

Tripwire looks really good, I have to say even though he's reused repainted parts they've done him well. The paint and parts mix well.

Cobra Commander - oh what again?

Here is a challenge for Hasbro on their Q&A can you go release one wave without the following:
1. Repaint
2. Reused Character I.E Duke, CC, Storm Shadow or a SE?

Now i can actually side with hasbro on the basis they are using plastic and the soaring cost of oil is making them drive prices up.. *clap clap*
I applaud you for realising that you would need to charge the collectors and fans $1 or $2 more on the figures.. but if your going to do this at least release a decent product!!

That falcon.. urgh and Nemesis Immortal, what with all the extra funds we're paying out on the figures you can't stump up enough dollar to pay for the copyright on his name..

I find this latest run of figures a shambles, although if i'm honest the whole 25th Anniversary has been nothing but an abuse by a toy manufacturer at the celebration of a nostalgic community.. truely awful form from Hasbro.

mostly Because We All Love The Original Sculpt Of The O'ring Style. There Are So Many Of Us Who Either Missed Out Or Lost Or Sold, Broke Etc Etc.... Of Our Originals. A Slight Repaint/new Head Mold Whatever Brings Us Back To Those Days. Plus In Sets Like This It Offers A Great Way To Army Build Without Having To Search And Search Forever To Have A Decent Amount. Or Deal With Scelpers On Ebay. Dont Get Me Wrong The 25th Look Cool In Thier Own Right But They Are Not The Gi Joe Toys I Grew Up With And My Kids Love Them ;)

The Club figures have pretty much always been repaints in some form or another. And they cost so much as it is, I think we're happy to get those rather than have to fork out even more to cover the cost of newly-sculpted parts!

Repaints from the 25th though feel like they're starting to repeat themselves when they've barely got going and there's a much more limited number of characters out there than RAH style has!

I'd assume the likes of the Techno-Viper, Sci-Fi and Predacon are customs too just going by the level of paint detailing. The drybrushing is a bit beyond production-level figures and I've not seen hand-painted prototypes overdo it to that extent either since they'd generally be trying to get across as close an idea as possible to the final intended product.

There are customs made by Hasbro's design team, I take it? Like last year's Alley-Viper, Sgt. Slaughter, etc?

The Dusty design sheet was interesting to see, though -- any more of those about?

[COLOR=Red]what has everyone though about the con? for the most part it was good, but we didnt get anywhere as much unknown stuff as i had hoped. some thoughts on some of the stuff.

-the greenshirts suck @$$.

-i like the 7 packs, even though the desert only had 6 in it, lol.

-what sux most is target getting the good stuff while wal-mart only gets 12inch. i dont do the 12 inch(stop there pervs) and the nearest target is 2 hours away.

-not yet sold on the ranking packs, we usually get one or 2 we want, but the 3rd is one we have. ex. the air pack. dont need bill or ace, but ill take starduster although hes no one i ever knew.

-ill take the navel ones.

-the para trooper looks great, the others were so so, but croc master should have been more buff and with much thicker boots.

-im psyched about the cartoon. warren ellis will be writing it and it sounds cool, but im not liking the 10 5 min thing and the long wait we have.[/COLOR]

Yeah. Its a several levels on the other side. Im still working on the main computer room where the MASS device will be. I have plans for a motor pool, ammo storage, lab, throne room, lounge/barricks/break room,Air Traffic Control tower on the very top. Im still trying to figure out lighting on the inside. Ill post some pics on what I have so far in the next day or two. And thatnk you for the welcome!!

- Skeletons in the Closet, this is where the baroness gets mad at destro for flirting and leads lady jaye to his castle and they try to sacrifice her.

- The Viper is Coming, everyones favorite window cleaner leads the joes to numerous cobra hideouts.

I'm glad I made my own Short Fuze custom cuz it looks like the recipe everyone is using anyway! Not overly excited by that Steeler since I made a custom of him already. And the gray trooper, he'd be KINDA cool if they were easy to build but... Something about it just says, "Don't bother." The whole pack seems like it'd be a great X-Mas gift to find under the tree. But all I'd want out of that is the Greenstalker and the HISS Driver.

The figure looks great. I'm not against the Armadillo, just the crap vehicle that is often packaged with it! I'd love a mobile gun like that. While I like the FLAK, HAL, MMS and Whirlwind, this can represent the same thing to me. But it can move too! Not as bulky or random as a MOBAT or PG.

Fairly blah...not bad especially. Helmets seem a bit silly for a live action movie, and the red on the "trooper" is ugly. Helmetless they are just more ski-mask thugs, which we've seen a lot of in recent years.

Wondering what their designation will actually be. Vipers, Iron Grenadiers, maybe even MARS troopers, as whoever labelled them. Word is NEO VIPERS are in the film, but the shot I saw of them in costume doesn't match these.

These figures looks good too me. I like the officers facemask much better than the red facemasks on the troopers. But the figures are looking nice and its good to get some to use for generic terroists in dio stories. Those look like customs to me, that being said, the Baroness has a Cobra logo, which as far as I know and have seen from screen shots and publicity photos, isn't on any of the costumes. So far I have only seen 'officially' the MARS Trooper figures which actually look pretty good. I'll take these with a grain of salt until something 'official' is released.

A sad day when even the movie figures suck! Im sure some ppl may be aware of a site dedicated to 1:18 scale stuff. Small Scale Headquarters.com. Pretty cool site, definately recommend to read some of the posts. Im also going to start making the trauma/extraction kits for sale. It will come with a spine board w straps,head immobilizer blocks,an o2 tank and trauma bag. I'll have some new pics of the set up in a day or so. I dont plan on making a killing with these either, so i will keep the prices affordable!! Let me know if any of you are interested!! Thanks, Sean.

This is wonderful news in terms of upcoming figures. I like what I see. The only I'm not so sure about is the Range Viper. Yeah, a few of those figures don't have their accessories and that'll make or break them; but I think we can all guess what Wetsuit, Recondo and RipTitTude will have. It's cool too that Recondo looks to use the Dusty mold which means we get swivel waist!

As geeked as it sounds, my main interests are the NiteCreepers, HitNRun (never had one) and don't laugh, the Alley Viper. there's something about bright colored urban soldiers that DON'T make sense yet, it's Cobra! They're are cocky bastards!

With the figures, I'll certainly get one of each, but in terms of army building, not sure which until I can hold them in my hands.. see what accessories they come with, etc.

In terms of the vehicles, just a few look interesting. The ferret I like.. probably will get several of them. Not interested with that huge weapon, so will rip that out. Probably will not get the sion.. that hummer-like vehicle. But if I do, it'll be something for the alley vipers -- an urban vehicle or something.

Has anyone noticed the Firefly ID card? Red helmet on Firefly?

That battle damaged B.A.T... the head would look better on the 25th B.A.T. Those arms look too clean for the battle damaged head.

I have to say that I think all these figures look totally freaking awesome. I even like the AlleyViper, the gear rocks and the orange is not offensive,even though it would look better in black or gray probly. I am pumped about all these guys. I am especially impressed with the Strato Viper and the Lamprey. Im gonna need several of those Lampreys. I never liked the original, they were too smooth and egg like for me. But this one looks great.

Is it just me, or is "SPC Altitude" pretty clearly supposed to be classic Rip Cord? The name may be different to separate him from the movie version, but he sure looks a lot more like Rip Cord (http://www.yojoe.com/action/84/ripcord.shtml) than Sky Patrol's Altitude (http://www.yojoe.com/action/90/altitude.shtml)! Assuming this was Hasbro's intent, I think it's a great way to satisfy fans who wanted an ARAH-style Rip Cord but were afraid they wouldn't get one because of the movie!

They only care about things like member count and site statistics, which is sad because they do have good contacts at Hasbro which gives them more new info.

That FireFly looks very nice. Looks like a collection of previous figures, though. To me it looks like red pilot destro hands, resolute trooper arms and legs, shockblast head and torso.

I wouldn't mind collecting several of these.

The Range-Viper looks awesome. I didnt see the the Alley Viper, which is also very nice. I like the Dial-Tone? but the eyes need work, she looks scared to death, or maybe like she's frying on acid lol.

Lord Raven managed a drunk wreck. I just know that when i saw the movie joes, it was picked over. As i told shane, "if i were a kid, i'd grab SE in a second". he looks cool but I like the SE i have now. I didn't see Drunkwreck, zartan, that ultra cool PIT MP Dooder and several others. I grabbed a ferret and desert duke. I've been wanting a 25th-oriented Scrap Iron. The desert duke? i'll repaint the hair and have a desert division of Joes. ;) My DUKE is resolute Duke.

Funny, the previous press release was that Hasbro's earning were up, with GI JOE part of the reason.

Now? Prices drops on ROC figures by two major retailers (a seasonal move or something else?), vehicle wave cancelled, a foreign market's fate uncertain.

Of course, $16 for those little vehicles stinks (with maybe the exception of the Firebat redeco). GI JOE isn't Star Wars, which is overpriced. It's not even Transformers. Hasbro tried to use the movie to milk their own property for more money.

Releasing the polar shark in the first wave, which was in the movie, might've been smarter than say, stuff that was not in the movie.

Yeah, I must admit, I was thinking the same thing. Most of the Walmarts around have like 400 figures on the sales floor, but almost all are Cobra Commanders, Dukes, Scarletts and RipCords from Waves (or collections or whatever ) 1 & 2. I think they over estimated what people would buy with the initial waves. Got a feeling we will be seeing these for years to come at Marshall's, Ross and Big Lots, like we did with a lot of the JvsC Era stuff! I still find JvsC figure packs at Big Lots from time to time!
