No, I am not talking about the figures we all know and love, but the soon to be movie...

I looked at the cast, from the way it looks, they look like it is gonig to be a B- Movie!

What are your opinions?

And also, like they did with Transformers,Hulk,Indiana Jones, I tihnk Hasbro might just issue a Movie line once the movie releases.

i wont say its a waste yet. i do think it will be a let down. aas for the figures, i dont think they will be a let down at all. true, we wont get any remakes, but they will be perfect for a new team and if rumors are true, we will get some cool playsets and vehicles. this being said i couldnt vote either way.

I fear the worst but hope for the best - before we see a trailer I won't sway my opinion one way or another.

Judging from all the news and photos so far, it's going to bear very little resemblence to the GI Joe we all know and love. I think it's going to bomb big time, maybe even a straight-to-DVD stinker. I won't be bothering with it in any way, shape or form.

IF the military aspect can be anywhere as cool as what they did in Transformers, there's hope. But then, maybe it'll end up like Universal Soldier (that's not the worst thing it could be). It'll be what it'll be. A popcorn movie for the summer.

I think I'll reserve judgment till I see it. Look wise, for the Joe side of the house,it's completely different, except Snake Eyes, the team, well, I think Stalker would have been a better choice than Ripcord. I'm gonna give it a fair shake, it may turn out to be ok or better, or it may stink. I can't give an honest opinion of something I haven't seen yet, just because of a bunch of stills and cast photos.

I'll wait too. To soon to judge the movie and the toy line.

I'm with you.

The success of an adaptation relies on it's accuracy and what I've seen and read so far doesn't follow what's already been established. I think it's gonna end up like Starship Troopers, where the movie makers keep some of the names and butcher everything else.

With the movie "overriding" the toy line, the heart of GI Joe, I think the movie will do serious damage to GI Joe as a whole.

If the early reports are true it seems that the writers and producers of the movie are going their own way with this movie.

They are taking a brand name and attaching their own military movie to it.

The most successful adaptations are the ones that stick close to the source material. ie Spiderman, Batman Begins, and Ironman.

When they go their own way you get Catwoman, and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

You'd think it'd be a simple lesson to learn.
