YAY or NAY : Link Talbot

Ok, I thought it over. Let's see what the posse here really thinks of the new characters. I am going to put in a lot of different aspects on the YAY or NAY side so while there may be positives, there will most likely be negatives too. It's a mix of subjective and objective aspect.

Target: DR. LINK TALBOT.

Typical ARAH construction.
All new sculpt.
Decent sculpt.
First Combat Veternarian.
Had a starring role in the Valor vs Venom movie.
Figured out how to reverse the Venomization process.
Has cornrows.
Cares about his animals at the zoo.
Scarlet took him down in the movie.
Came w/ great grenade launcher & wrist communicator.
Technically a Navy SEAL and martial arts expert.
Had 2 versions made of him.
Not the most military of outfits.
Buff for an ARAH figure.

Again, new characters beat infinite versions of the same old ones over and over. Whilst Link is not one of my faves, he has a place in my Joeverse as a medic.

but i agree... even tho i dislike him because he's a vet, I would use him as a "red-shirt" and not much more. I have nothing against vets, but come on, a GI Joe vet?

[COLOR=Red] i use him , he got killed in my halloween dio. ill use anyone, but that doesnt mean i like them. the only new characters i like since the ARAh figs are bombstrike, hannible and venom maximus. blackout, cross hair, link, black outs brother, wraith, the team in black for cobra, hated them all. i wanted to see my old faves and not new characters, guess im alone in that thought as many say they had enough of the oldies.[/COLOR]

agreed. the body is funky. but i guess who takes care of timber, polly, freedom, spearhead's bobcat, junkyard, order, and probably more that I dont even know about when they get blasted?

According to the story he was some sort of kung-fu champion and Navy SEAL, before he became a Vet. You know, I find this somewhat at odds. Not the Vet part but being a SEAL and a KUNG-FU champion. Kung-fu has a history of being a defensive martial art not an offensive martial art.

I like the figure's head as a non-descript grunt soldier. The rest of the body is a bit wonky though.

I think he became a vet after he left the millitary? He looks cool enough the hair is a little to far apart but I dont know why people dont like this figure I never even seen him in any comic.
