I got to see the Shuttle launch on My honeymoon about 8 years ago. We were out on a cruise ship and went out about 4 in the morning. Even at 50 miles away it was a great site to see.

I stay away from anything "spaceshuttle"! The first and only shuttle launch I saw was Challenger and that didn't go to well. Many years later I was hauling a load (Driving truck for SWIFT Trasportation) through east Texas one morning when the Columbia came down in several pieces overhead! Call it coinsidence, I call it a curse!

That's really cool, I was down in the area in May and got to see Atlantis launch off... it was my 5-6th shuttle launch. I seem to never get bored of watching the shuttles.
It never even occured to me to post pics for you guys... but now I may have to.

I was in 11th grade, it went up during our lunch break. We watched it from the courtyard of my High School. School was let out early that day, it was devistating to this area!

I was in 6th grade, but out of school for the week to go to Florida (Seabring) for my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. It was my families great Idea to drive down and watch the shuttle launch that day. I have to admit as a kid it was kinda cool to see but the reality of it was far from cool.
