(posted by Deanne on behalf of Craig) Thursday/Friday - Things have taken a turn for the worse and the tumour started bleeding Saturday & hasn't stopped, so I'm in hospital right now having emergency blood transfusions with surgery to follow ASAP. My wife Deanne has posted this for me and she'll update as soon as we can. Thanks for your support guys.
Friday night (from Deanne) - Hi to everyone - well it's been a long day but the surgery has been completed and he has made it through the operation and is now in intensive care. The surgeon says that they have removed the tumour which should stop the bleeding. I will spend most of the day at the hospital, so, will post another update as soon as I can. From me personally, I thank all of you for your support, prayers, thoughts & friendship. Even though most of you are a long way away, the bonds that have formed between youselves are great. I know the next couple of weeks are going to be really rough for Craig, but, he will be asking what's happening with you all :). Take care.

Craig/Deanne, I think it is a great news getting the tumor removed. As I said previous you'll get out of it soon, we have many more lessons to take from you on picture shooting.

Get better fast my friend, we all here in Brazil are thinking about you. And Deanne keep taking care as you have been doing and I'm sure Craig will be back on his feet soon.

Stay well!

From the United Kingdom, Please both be strong and both be courageous. I wish you both the best of wishes and my thoughts are with you in this great time of need.

It is vital right now that we all must offer our support and loyalty to help craig pull through, I'm absolutely delighted that he managed to pull through the surgery and lets all hope he grows from strength to strength.

My biggest thanks to Deanne who has been good enough to post up and let us all know with updates, you should know that when you read this thread everyone of us at Joe Dios thinks very highly of Craig and wants him to return back to Joe Dios asap, he's a true JD soldier and has inspired each and every one of us to better ourselves in our hobby and in our own personal lifes. (I can certainly vouch that for myself).

Take care to the both of you and please update us continually as and when you possibly can.

All my best wishes.

Dear Outrider,

From what I understand having the operation at this time could swing both ways. I´m fairly certain I'm the first from Iceland to participate on Joedios and with all the people from all these countries. How can God (or any higher being)NOT listen to us and make sure this goes the right way.

I've been going daily to our site since 2005 but never contributed in any way and only enjoyd the fine work of everyone. This was the first pic I saw and ever since I was HOOKED :)

Hey guys, I'm back! :) Just got home from the hospital today, and though I still feel like I've been hit by a truck, I just wanted to let everyone know the news, and it's mostly good. The main tumor is completely gone now and for the first time the doctors are talking about full recovery. There are however still a few very small cancerous spots remining around the area where the main tumour was, as well as the spots on the liver, so some further treatment (non surgical) will be in line when I recover from the surgery. They also discovered I have a minor heart problem which I have to see a cardiologist about, but it's not life threatening or anything.
I gotta say it was a close run thing again though - by the time I got to the hospital, I needed 9 units of blood just to keep me alive until they could operate.
Whilst I'm still not feeling up to taking pics just yet, I'm going to spend some time over the next few days catching up with everyone else's great work.
And finally, thanks to everyone for your unwavering support, it really lifted my spirits during those long days and nights in hospital. You guys are the best! :D

I saw the surgeon yesterday, and he's happy with how everything is healing up, so that was good. I'm still sore, but thankfully it's getting a little better each day.
My next appointment is with the oncologist late next month, and it's pretty certain that I'll require another bout of chemotherapy treatments to mop up the few remaining spots left on the pelvic wall. I can't say I'm looking forward to it (I'm still feeling the effects of the last lot of chemo), but there isn't really a lot of choice in the matter - to leave them untreated would, over time, put me back where I was before surgery.
