Some 22 years later they are finally making a Big Lob figure. lol Kinda neat I guess, the vintage figure that never was. And wow does Mercer's head look weird like that and note the painted lips...

I think he looks ok, I like the part selection. I'm not in the club so if I have the opportunity I might try to snag him.

Seeing as the con sets have changed over to 25th construction, I only renewed my membership this year to get this figure. If the free membership figure goes 25th as well next year, I'll be saving my money. :)

There's that Hydro Viper set they mentioned but probably won't make.
I mean, look what happened to the Adventure Team sets, first RAH, now 25th...if they make them. (Don't hold your breath.)
I'd gladly pay $5 for that Big Lob....which means I will never own one.

I'm sorry I just feel it was cheap an unimaginative to use mercer's head for Big Lob, now he looks like Kurt Russel after a Hawian Vacation.
There were plenty of heads that could have fit the bill better, even Red Dog.

I agree, the Mercer's head is terrific: what a shame.
They'd use a new head.
The Gung Ho arms were used for Slaughter exclusive too.

Agreed, on both counts. However, I still have yet to renew my membership. And seeing as how this figure sux, I think I'll keep my $43 this year! What happened to Big Lob's patented "ping pong ball shaped 'FRO?" Now he's sporting a modified Brush cut? I could do better with a few Corps Figure repaints stuck together with glue! Damn.....and finally, the Club sells out!

I hope the "prototype, final product may vary" disclaimer holds true for the head, but the body looks good to me. Definitely far from perfect but this is the most excited I've been about a Joe figure all year.

Looks okay to me.
Since I never owned Mercer v1, I didn't even realize that was his head! I thought it was a new mold!!

I don't know how they can compare this crap with the awesome figs of the last 2 years!! I may not renew my membership, if I do I will be changing to the 12" fig!

Unlike some of you, I felt the Cobra Commander from a couple years ago was awful and hated the Copperhead. The figure last year was the best they have done. This figure is a pretty good one in my opinion. Could they have done better, Yes. Could they have given us a newsculpt or Modern mold, also yes. We get an O ring figure that is for once, not a reissue version 68 CC and I for one am looking forward to having one.
