This will be my 10. Low light, Macro 10X optical zoom, GPS, compass, pano-stitcing, in-camera HDR. It ROCKS.

rambo if its an slr you need a macro close up lens thats what I use! I have a canon rebel 8 megapixel! honestly anything over 4 or 5 pix is not necessary but cant be found on an slr anymore unless used! my 8 mega pixel shoot at large 48inches by 30 something who needs a picture that large! not me its nice when working in photoshop to zoom in really close! but not neccesary! Un tripod rambo con un macro lens y mucha luz! ciao DD!

I'm 5mp

The key is to sharpen the image in a foto editing program. ;)

Really, anything over 6 MP is a waste unless you're making poster-sized prints. For our hobby, Macro and low-light are FAR more important.

The size of the sensor field is most important in any camera. The bigger the array the better the resolution.

i have to agree my original camera I had , which died short after joining joedios, was just 2.3 Mp. I was able to take good photo like this.

From my other hobby the mechs are only 2" tall

My primary camera is a Casio Exilim 8mpx, but my backup is a Vivitar 5mpx (I think). Both are just point-and-shoot cameras. What I like about the Casio is that it allows me to turn off the flash in macro mode (closeup). For some reason the Vivitar forces the flash.

I still remember an old film camera I got for $15 (Fuji, I think) that had a macro mode. Just a manual switch that put a plastic lens over the regular lens. Too bad I don't have any of the picts from those days (I was doing mostly Star Trek micro machines back then).
