The people on the FFURG boards have decided to make their Casting Calls, essentially group submissions/projects, all about dioramas this summer for the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. Some how I'm in charge for hyping and getting participation going (not too successful on this one as opposed to previous ones). Submission deadline is ~August 1, 2010.
However, with all the crossing over that goes on here, if anyone is interested, please join up at FFURG.com. I'll be posting up some of the work that I've been doing. Here's my latest shots:
Dagobah
So, cloudy overcast skies the last few days and I fail to take a picture. I end up having to wait till dusk.
I present, my brief foray into Dagobah.

If anything, this one is a bit too dark. I'm working on it slowly through picassa and gimp. Something will come out of this one.

Thanks for posting. Yes, take another deep inhale of the inter-net google machine. Instead of a white powder above your lip you have diodes hanging like boogers from your nose. :p

I lurk over there from time to time. I dont see much activity going on in the dio or custom section. Am I missing something?

No, this is up in the main customs thread due to the higher traffic. It's the irregular Casting Call, the one time the site hosts images. This is the direct link (http://www.ffurg.com/FForums/index.php?showtopic=5025&st=0) to this particular Casting Call.

Probably because I was taking it in the dark with night mode setting, longer exposure all that.

Here's probably the most work I've ever done on a pic! So, how to make the BMF with crew look not like sitting on your dryer in full light? I don't know either, and lacking a black sheet or back drop, here's my best shot. What I did do is obviously 3PO's eyes, as well as drop a light in the back over the hatch to the access corridor, and finally darken out the non-cockpit part of the images.
