The Jungle B.A.T. does nothing for me. They looked better in their black mold, but I only say that because the B.A.T.'s were never meant as an ambush trooper; they were more of an in your face, you are dead kind of troop.

However, it would be nice to see another update of General Hawk, Blowtorch maybe, and the Steel Brigade Trooper is definitely an iffie.

As for the Cobra team, the last thing I need is a repaint of RoC Cobra Commander. But the Cobra Trooper, if done right could be an interesting Army builder.

Now, what I would like to see, are some of the older characters, such as Sneak Peak or Ambush. I would also like to see a few of the other Dreadnoks, such as Roadpig and Gnawgahyde released. Now those would be a must have for my collection.

Here we go again. Its that time for repaints. The BAT? Yeah, they can keep it! (best believe it will be in the collection thow). Im on the fence with Hawk and Blowtorch. Cobra Commander? Not another one!!! Lt. Pinpoint, Im with you how about other figures like a new BulletProof or Scoop!?!

Jungle BAT is interesting but not "Must have" more like might get if I have the money. Hawk and CC, I have a ton of both, only if it's something really different or something. Cobra Trooper could be interesting depending on what exactly it is. Steel Brigade leave me cold, easy pass probably.

Cory could do a way better and interesting paint app on a BAT, but it is nice NOT to have to paint a figure.

The pic of the BAT looks like a poorly done custom. Hawk might be interestig, depending on the sculpt they use... not looking forward to another CC. The others we'll have to see.

Someone stated over on the JoeCustoms board that the reason its mostly repaints is cause they didn't think it'd go this far.. So we'll see. I'm still kinda hoping the Cobra Soldier is a repaint of the Resolute trooper so many like.. The CC could be the Jungle CC OR Arctic CC that was shown at the Joe Con a while back. Though on the Cobra Soldier the thought of the Shock Trooper being the standard trooper from someone high up in Hasbro that it MIGHT be a repaint of the Shock Trooper.. Supposedly Hasbro has the molds for a Airtight and Lifeline 25th sculpt somewhere as well. Something about a Jungle Heavy Duty as well.... And the Jungle Bat COULD be a early moc up cause the belt is missing on it and the head looks a little weird.

They keep using that "we didn't think it'd sell" excuse and have been since they did the 25th series. The real reason is the H gives all the big money to Star Wars.

These all have the potential to be great but I'm sure only a handful will be while the rest are passable or custom fodder at best. That's how it's how been since the first wave and Hasbro is nothing if not predictable.

I think that's the real issue. While mold recycling, repaints and generic base-bodies have offered some flexibility and new looks, the line as a whole has become rather stale. Every figure is a remake of a Duke, armored Cobra Commander or the MARS Trooper. The vintage ARAH figures, while less versatile for part swapping, were unique and you developed a love (or hate) for that particular character.

An example: that "cancelled" wave with the Whirlwind/green Range Viper should've been gold, but they had to throw in that damn JvC glider we've seen a million times with a mustachioed Tripwire as Ace! Lazy!! The jungle BAT will reel in money (Hasbro noticed the Black Major customs), but more bland figures made from parts we already have are going to be tough to sell. And stores seem to be tired of pegwarming GIJoe figures already.

I see three names there that, if real, are going to kick my troop building into overdrive.

If they made a PoC Iron Grenadier, would it just re-use the 25th mold, or would they overhaul it like they did with a lot of the other PoC characters.

And I would love a Rock Viper in the vein of The original v2 rock viper, that just used the range viper mold.
That way we'd all have a shot at a getting that mold without being in a 7 pack, or a target exclusive that you can only get at select Ross clothing stores.

i think i'd even be ok with that. I was in training for the majority of the 25th run, so it'd be nice to have a chance to build a couple of the figures i missed. If it's a standard viper, i hope they fix those hands.

New Wave...only one that sounds like it's a keeper is Steel Brigade Trooper. I might pick up a Jungle Bat just to have one, but like someone said... REPAINT!!

As for Hasbro's failings, I think it's obvious and it will never change. They stock each wave with a case that has 4 Dukes, 4 Cobra Commanders, 4 Snake eyes, 4 Destros and 4 storm shadows and every 3rd box includes one Army builder such as Alley Viper or Shock Trooper. And then they want to whine about how sales suck,because no one wanted to buy the 10,000 ROC destros still on the shelf from 2009! Add to that, they take all the REALLY cool stuff and Target cancels it and we have to try to get one of the two that Ross gets in (Jungle Terror, Desert Cycle, flight pod and Sand Serpent) before it's all scooped up, or buy it on Ebay or from Canada (Desert Rockslide, Polar Sharc, Lava Pod)! While they flood the stores with over priced CRAP! (RIP ATTACK Vehicles! and $16 arctic Rockslides!)

to summarize, if HASBRO REALLY wanted to make GI Joe a Cash Cow, they would flood the market with cool toys and Army builders and cancel the crap they keep trying to shove down out throat!

I think Hasbro is doing a good job with the POC line. It's definitely the best of the modern style figures. And the list of new figures looks really promising.

Snake Eyes & Cobra Commander:
We really don't need any more of these characters. (But at least we're not getting another Duke.) Although I am curious to see Cobra Commander get the POC treatment.

Blowtorch & Hawk:
Two characters I really like but there hasn't been a really good modern Hawk and Blowtorch yet, so I'm looking forward to these.

BAT:
The 25A mold isn't very good, repainting it isn't going to help.

Croc Master:
He hasn't had a good figure yet. Maybe we'll finally get one.

Crazy Legs:
"New" character! Wooo!

Cobra Trooper, Steel Brigade, Viper, Rock-Viper & Iron Grenadier:
I can't wait to see these guys get the POC treatment. These could be army builder gold.

What do you mean the licenses to do the F14, F16, and Night Raven??? Those are just jets BASED on those jets not actual licensed jets.. look at the other lines for the actual licensed jets for those except the Night Raven and there is no real Night Raven so have no idea what your talking about there cause it don't even match the SR-71 THAT much. There is a licensed Stryker out there as well but they haven't released it...Forces of Valor made it that is... The Osprey is done by Chap Mei just VERY hard to find in the US....IF I ever win the lotto I'm buying tons to sell on these boards...LOL

Why? Is does someone from Hasbro hang out there? Like I said, all the bi*ching in the world won't change anything as far as hasbro is concerned, so why bother trying? Kinda like their "ask Hasbro" questions. They never commit to anything and give the most ambiguous answers. I used to try to find out what I could do, but the more I tried, the more ticked I got at the B.S. and bureaucracy there. Yep scored my LL at WalMart as well.. didn't see Skydive, Destro, or Shadow Tracker but they had the Shock Vipers.. There's a Scalper around me cause the next day all the Shock Vipers were gone. :(

I think the Wal Marts and Targets are getting the revision cases before the actual waves. Which would explain why extra jungle vipers and shock troopers are showing up.
If that's the case though we sadly won't see the new Destro that I'm dying to get my hands on in stores until they get the actual wave case.

Not another Duke???!!!! :mad: The designers need to pick up some old Joe comics and catalogs and get original. I'm with Lt.Pinpoint they really need to come out with some new figures. Look how many different Star Wars figures you can buy, and the Joe heads get stuck with a bunch of crappy repaints. I will say they did a nice job on the Shock Troopers. But you can never find any for army builders.

I was just at one of the Big Boxes by me, same old crappy Arctic Destro's and Dustys. The scalpers have had it picked clean for a long time. But thanks for the heads up. :)

I saw some pics of the hasbro stand at the toyfair 2011, there are cool joes there, the viper, for instace, is like a retooled version, with articulated wrists, the body resembles the original but it's different, less toony.
