To me it's the directiing. Couldn't they get the guy that does the Mission Imposible movies or wait on the dude who did the recent StarTrek or try to get Lucas. He would have been my choice to direct these movies. My choice for Billly would be Justin Bieber. It would be worth 9 dollars to see him in the scene where Scrap Iron toasts the car that he, Bongo and that drunk guy are riding in!!!

I like that idea too....I know that GI Joe has a lot of sci-fi weapons and characters but something a little more gritty and "real" would be kind of sweet too like the directors of taken or Bourne identity....

ahhhh - I've been pondering a live-action Joe cast since 1997 or so. Love these kind of questions.
I always thought that Sean Connery & Catherine Zeta Jones had a kind of Destro-Baroness thing going in the movie "Entrapment (1999)". However, I know they've already been cast in the first one.
I like Catherine Bell from Jag for Lady Jaye. Or if not her, Kate Beckinsale.
Ving Rhames I guess for Roadblock - not 'The Rock'.
Wesley Snipes for Stalker (if he is legally allowed back in the U.S.)
Willem Dafoe would be a great Scrap-Iron.
Lawrence Fishburne would be a great Doc.
The singer Pink could play Zarana.....
Michael Douglas (even though he's old) could play a bugged-out-been-in-the-jungle-too-long Recondo.
I always like Kenny Baker from Pensacola Wings of Gold for Snake Eyes, but Ray Park did okay on the acrobatics, but unmasked, I'd prefer Kenny.
I liked JG-L as Cobra Commander, but with his earlier voice and a better helmet.
Geraldo Rivera as Hector Ramirez ;-)
Neil Ross not only IS Shipwreck's voice, but he sorta looks like him too - just give him some "Just For Men" black. If not, Christian Slater maybe.
Off the top of my head - that's it for now - I realize these actors would cost too much to ALL be in it, but it's just for kicks so....

80's Child has it. Like the choices.
I stand by his choices. I can't think of anyone better.
Especially Willem Defoe-Scrap Iron
Kiefer Sutherland as Duke.
(play him as he would Jack Bauer-a little bit screwed up in the head)

Thanks guy!!
But I made a mistake - Kenny Baker played R2-D2, I meant to say Kenny Johnson:

You may not remember him from PWOG (1997), but he's beeen on The Shield and Sons Of Anarchy I guess also (more recently)

I agree that directing is more important. Christopher Nolan would be cool.
Anyway, I also agree that Ving Rhames would play a perfect Roadblock.
Mark Valley for Duke, maybe.
