Store Update!
This has been alot tougher than I thought, lots of all-nighters. The house we are using is almost 100 years old, it was a Doctor's office before us, so it was already remodeled for business. We have still had to do a ton of work to get it usable for our store. Dealing with busted toilets, broken ceiling fans and other unexpecteds is driving me nuts! The walls are slat wood with plaster over it, it has been tough to hang peg-board and displays, but we are almost finished with that. The Joe & Star Wars room is almost finished, I will post some pics when it is done. We have been ordering inventory for the dollhouse & miniature stuff and it is starting to come in. Cross your fingers that this will work, we have sunk our life saving into it! Tax season is over so Julie's income is over until next January, so this and my ebay store will be our only income. The Florida FX toy show is this weekend, I am going to it to look for some high end & rarer Joe & Star Wars stuff. If anyone is looking for something PM me and I will pick it up for you. We are hoping to open on Monday April 20.

I will be running specials on the website. I will not have a shopping cart, did that before and it was way too expensive. I will take orders by phone or email.

COOL, BUT WILL IT BE UP THEN TOO??? |
Not by the 20th, soon after.

Good luck! I ran a very small operation selling Dragon, Ultimate Soldier and other 1/6 Joes before we had children. It was a good learning experience. My wife made countless trips to the PO for me. Once our first was born, that business model didn't really work well, and our priorities shifted.
I hope all goes well with the business, and please keep us updated! |
I added some tools today to the website. Inventory is finally starting to come in, I will be adding more stuff daily so keep checking back. The 20th has come and gone and we are still not open, waiting on the insurance guy to find someone to insure us. With hurricane season about to start no companies want to insure a building that was built in 1918! Its funny because this building has been through some terrible storms and is still standing! I am updating the website as I have time, check it out - The Hobby House

Wow.
It really is a Hobby House! :D Seriously, I was expecting something a bit more business-y. But I'm a metropolis boy. I'm used to store fronts having huge signs and giant display windows. Regardless, best of luck in this venture! |
