Cobra Commander World Tour Project

I know there is another travelling figure project that Otto is setting up, I have one too. This is based on Flatline's idea a while back of having Cobra Commander on vacation. I have had this custom in the works for a while and just finished him. This project is open to all JoeDios members worldwide. The rules are simple:

1. If you want to join in, post in this thread with your location so we can set up an itinerary for Cobra Commander.

2. Post in this thread when you receive and when you ship out the figure to the next person below you in the list. You will be responsible for shipping to the next person in line. Please take your photo and ship out within 3 to 4 days.

3. Photo must be taken outside with Cobra Commander posed with something of interest in your area. You can add whatever props you like, but please send included accessories (suitcase, satchel & dagger) along with the fig.

4. Post a link to your photo in this thread and tag photo with "vacation"

5. Have fun!

Death he's coming your way!

giTom 05-01-2010 07:54 PM

I'd like to be in on the fun!

McDonough, GA

Dreadnok Dread 05-01-2010 08:56 PM

me too! include me somewhere in there! spokane washington! hit me up guys on here or flickr! you know im good for it might have to include extra stuff as he travels like souvenirs ! :)

Flatline 05-01-2010 08:59 PM

I wanna play :)

Death_at_Midnight 05-01-2010 09:56 PM

I wanna be in!

But not sure where I'll be. In a few months, sometime after July, I'll be traveling to Japan and Thailand. Else I'm here in Texas. However, is it possible to build a custom with matching accessories so that I could take with me on these trips while someone else can keep the momentum of the traveling CC going?

Otto the Otter 05-01-2010 10:15 PM

I get in on this one as well. I'm in Phoenix, AZ

That will work! I will put you toward the top of the list so you can do something with this one too in Texas.

That sounds like a fantastic idea!

LordRaven 05-01-2010 11:12 PM

I will be happy to be the first Canadian involved. Winnipeg, MB. (though right now I live about a half hour outside the city)

Death_at_Midnight 05-01-2010 11:28 PM

Postcards he needs too.. as props.. someone should scan them in from time to time to 1/18 scale.

Cobra Passport would be cool too. Maybe red with gold sigil, or cobra blue with red sigil....

This is a cool idea for souvenirs. heheheh

Your getting him next so get something ready! :D

Death_at_Midnight 05-01-2010 11:33 PM

Cool! I'll go buy a traveling brochure tomorrow .. Texas.. it's like a whole other country.. one of those types.. to scan the cover to 1/18.

PM sent with mailing address, btw.

vader9900 05-02-2010 08:06 PM

We need to send Cobra Commander to other places than the US & Canada! You guys in South America & Europe come on and sign up! :D

r2witco 05-03-2010 10:59 AM

If he wants to see the San Francisco Bay Area, count me in! I'd love to play along.

seamusharper 05-03-2010 05:37 PM

Im sure he'd have a blast in Dayton, Ohio. I can get a shot either at the Wright Cycle Shop, Paul Lawrence Dunbar House, WPAFB Air Force Museum, or if its open by then, the Wright Flyer III

ThinkTank 05-03-2010 11:14 PM

count me in. I'm in Lubbock, Texas.

Just one arrived: the one I paid for Priority mail plus insurance ($27 iirc).

The one with the JD prize never got here :(

Are you serious? That sux, I am sorry brother.
Priority is a little costly for this. Mybe if one of the guys from Brazil or Chile sign up they could send it to you. We will see.

No worries Dave. Graham thinks someone in the Colombian Post Office is ripping me off to sell my stuff at ebay.

Death_at_Midnight 05-04-2010 09:30 PM

This is a good point. When sending to international locations, a private carrier like UPS, FedEx, DHL, or EMS do ensure a safe delivery. I find sending stuff to other countries often get stolen (depends which country) But I figure we spend more $$ on Joes that the cost to ensure the safety of Cobra Commander is a really small price. So don't skip out on the cost. Better to play it safe and ensure the safety of the figure.

vader9900 05-04-2010 11:37 PM

So Death, you want to send CC to Rambo? :D

Cobra Commander has arrive in Texas for vacation. Let's see if Texas can survive this world famous figure who has thus far managed to evade the media.

vader9900 05-23-2010 09:43 PM

When are we gonna see a shot of him?

Hehhe,

I switched to plan B. Plan A was to take a visit down the road to President Bush's ranch, but too many security cameras and there was still a patrol car near. I figured someone stopping the car with a camera might look too suspicious, and with an excuse to take a pic of a toy....

So on to plan b.

But, having the figure in hand I can duplicate him and move the original off to the next participant (ThinkTank) within a few days.

vader9900 05-23-2010 11:11 PM

CC on Bush's ranch would have rocked

Rambo 05-24-2010 10:21 AM

CC with Bush would have rocked...

CC and W........ I KNEW IT.....

Death_at_Midnight 05-28-2010 06:59 AM

Okay, I'm going to send him on to the next person now. It's been really difficult to do something that takes me to the other side of the city (mom's ill, been with her after work the last 3 weeks). I will make a duplicate before sending him out, that way I can take pics when the opportunity comes.

vader9900 06-01-2010 02:35 PM

I am adding links to the photos on the front page of this thread under itinerary post so we can find them easy.

Its still not too late to get in on this if you want.

ThinkTank 06-08-2010 11:09 PM

I'm still waiting to get vacation CC for his journey through the strange land of humid desert with rain that Lubbock has become. I hope I can get a nice shot of a dust storm while he is here.

Rachel 06-08-2010 11:19 PM

I am 100 percent positive that CC on vacation, needs to come to Memphis
