Something I have done too that works well is wooden dowels. You can get them in the right size to fit the foot peg, a 3 foot section of dowel makes several dozen. I use them with a foam-core floor, pop a little hole in the floor and insert the dowel. This is a great way to stand troops in formation without stands.
