Dzirhan Mahadzir - Haven't posted much for a while these day, as work keeps me busy, fairly oldtimer in the online community as started with the Pit Mailing list back in 96 or so, I'll be 39 in August and I work as a freelance defence journalist and also as a defence consultant, with most of my writing work with Janes Defence Weekly as a country correspondant. I live in Malaysia which is a tropical country so difficult trying to do dios with snow vehicles but that hasn't stop me from getting several arctic hisses though :) . Basically collect any modern military 3 3/4 or 1/18 stuff amd any other 3 3/4 and 1/18 that'll work with my stuff.

Born and raised in good 'ole Dayton, Ohio. Graduated high school in 1999, and enlisted in the U.S. Army. Served for 4 years, 5 months, and 2 days. Yep, I got extended for the conveinece of the government. I was an 88M/88N/88H, meaning I mostly drove trucks and forklifts. After my much awaited departure I returned to Ohio, and have worked a couple of security jobs. I now do security for the local transit service.

Getting married to a wonderful woman on April 23rd, and expecting my first kid (a boy) on July 27th.

Im mostly getting into Joes again to rekindle my childhood, although Im much more dedicated to getting them now than I was as a kid. Spent numerous years collecting Star Trek and Star Wars, so I have a lot of crossover potential.

Recently began work on making more accessories for the 25th figures. Been working so much this past year, havent had much time to look at the site, take any pics, or even work on my dios/playset. Cheers!!

Hi, I'm Alessandro Bassi (People call me Alex) I'm 30 years old and I'm from Italy.
I live in a small village called Cervignano d'Adda 25 km far away from Milan and I'm not married or engaged either :D
I'm a drum teacher and I'm at the end of the university as well.
I started making pictures or dios when I meet this wonderfull website and now I'm also on flickr as ISE :D ItalianSnakeEyes.
My passions are the GI Joes vintage, I don't like anything about the modern era figures, I play drum in a Progressive Death Metal Band here in Italy and do parkour but I had to stop with it 6 month ago because I've got a bad injury to my shoulder. Now my shoulder is fixed and now I can do parkour again :)
Everyone can find me on Facebook "Bassi Alessandro" (my avatar is my big drum set)
or MSN/skype (bdrumming@gmail.com) and I also have MYspace.

Hi- I go by the handle of Weerd1, but my real name's Dan. I've been a Joe fan since I got a 12" Land Commander at age four, and started getting the RAH figures in 82 when I was ten. I'm a long way into a military career and have allowed your tax dollars to move my Joe collection all over the world. I have a now mostly adult son who's about to outgrow his GI Joes and let me re-inherit them (he's 19 for pete's sake! Give up the toys, give them to your dad!) and a daughter in High School, and the single most understanding and tolerant wife on Earth ("but darling, if I buy THAT HISS tank I will have a spare to turn into a TOW Missile modern tank destroyer!"). I write Joe fan fiction (which you can find on my website linked in my profile) and do some customs and pictures. Love the site and hope to make some worthwhile contributions!
Be seeing you!

Hi everyone! I'm George, a Bangkok-based Filipino collector of G.I.Joe and other 1:18 military-themed stuff. I had my first G.I.Joe vehicle and action figure (HAL with Grand Slam) in 1984. Stopped collecting in 1988 when I entered college but resumed the hobby in 2005. Got into taking pictures of my collection beginning in 2007.

Collecting and taking pictures of the Joes is not only a hobby but part of the family activities; they help me bond with my 11-year-old son (himself drawn to G.I.Joe and movie-themed 1:18 stuff) who often acts as my "production assistant" whenever I shoot pics of the Joes outdoors; my wife helps me out--not only with her permission to buy these toys, hehe!--but also with finding useful materials I can use, like microwaveable plastic boxes, display cases, cheaper ziplock bags, etc.; my two daughters, on the other hand, help me tidy up the house after every "Joe and Cobra session". :)

Looking forward to learning more from you guys! :)

Wow! Bangkok-based! My new stomping grounds! I'll be back in Bangkok this August. BTW, where in BKK do you find a good selection of Joes? I would think ZEN at Central World, but that's now gone, and I have no clue the TRU there survived. Wow! Small world!

Hello I'm SerialPhoenix=Sean Pittman

I'm 22 years of age in live in Indiana. I work as a coal miner to support my habit of collecting joes. I've been a lurker around here for a long time, but just recently got into the hobby of photo taking. I only get about one day off a week though, so it doesn't give me a lot of time to take pictures, so it makes it that much more enjoyable when I actually do get the camera out. Anyways glad to finally be a part of this site and hope to add some cool contributions.

Hello! Been posting pics for a while on here but never introduced myself.
UKGIJOE but I go by the name of Andrew.
26 years old and been collecting Joes for 20 years - love 'em.
Apart from that I quote repairs on aircraft tooling as a job and play ice hockey and football (soccer to some of you).
Rest of the time I like to drink away the mundane boringness that is my 9-5 job with my mates down the pub.
Good chatting to you guys!

Hi! My name is Marsha not Marsha Brady or Marsha Marsha Marsha:p just 'Marsha"

Theres not much to say about me but i'll try! Well I was a full-time nursing student 3yrs in but decided to take a break which has now turned into a long and drawn out vacation. Other than that i'm cooking, cleaning, trying to keep up with laundry and yelling at the kids  .
I'm a single mom of two boy ages 10,4 and lil girl due at any moment. Curtis my 10yr old who we call noodle, noo noo or noonie is mainly into little debbies, wrestling and watching tv. He very hyper  and is always on the go none stop until he body just shuts down. My 4yr old jacob who we call jacob bear is a complete mammas boy. He is scared of just about everything but recently mainly salad fingers on youtube. They are both interested in joes a little and posing but are still quite young.I hope they get into joes more in time and because its a good healthy, fun hobby.
My soon to be little girl who has yet to be named is what seems to be a little firecracker already and is causing mommy all kinds of problems even before her arrival.
My bestfriend got me interested in joes just awhile ago and I have dedicated a lot of my time joe hunting, watching and observing his awesome work. Now that I'm on complete bed rest I have so much time to take some of the thoughts i have had and bring them to life when i can. It's great pleasure being on the site. Thnks :D

Those sound pretty cool actually. Kinda patriotic. Just don't give the poor girl a strangly spelled version of a common name like Jeni, Margaux, or Pnaomeee. You'll never find personalized pencils, earings, or bicycle license plates.

Introduction

Well I guess it's time to introduce myself

I've been coming to this site since 2005 to look at pictures and enjoy your work. I've posted a little bit lately in the forum and commented on a few pics. I never really had time to take photos nor faith in my ability. You guys set the bar PRETTY HIGH :)

But since I've posted my first pic I think it's time to stop lurking and start contributing :)

My name is Arni
I live in Iceland
I have two daughters 9 and 3
I work in the purchase department for the most popular computer store in Iceland. YEAH :)

btw I'm not going to apologize for the volcano since it was not my fault :) and we're still suffering from it's effects.

First time I saw someone apologizing for a VOLCANO!!! He didn't do many things, it only stopped airplanes from all the world :P.

WELCOME!

Sorry, I saw your post only now (haven't been visiting the forum for the past months).

Yeah, too bad about Zen and Central World.

The only G.I.Joes that made it here in Thailand are the ROC first wave figs and Alpha vehicles but that's it, no follow-up waves. No POCs either. You can still find some stocks (mostly Neo-Vipers, Destro, ec. and the Panther/Armadillo etc. in Siam Paragon's toy shop and in all branches of Central Malls.

If you are looking for 1:18 stuff, you might have better luck. Star Wars stuff, for one, are in abundance here. Marvel figs in 1:18 scale too.

Before it was burned down, the TRU in Central World had a lot of Hulk Humvees on sale at just 1,000 Baht each (roughly $30) and PTE Blackhawk and Raptor (each selling for 1,500 Baht). (I should have bought a Blackhawk at the time).

There is a hobby mall in Chinatown (Yaowarat) which offer 1:18 stuff (both loose and MOC). I went there only once almost two years ago. I saw some figures from the "Alien" films there (loose), like Ripley and the Marines. Some Bbi/Elite Force figures too.

I also saw a 25th Anniv cartoon Baroness and a Nemesis/Lt. Falcon comic pack (both MOCs); a bit overpriced though.

There are also toy shops at the top floor of MBK though they don't sell any G.I.Joe item in general. You might get lucky though and find a stray Joe or Cobra item.

Apart from these, I don't know any other shops selling G.I.Joe stuff. There is a small collectors community, though.

Hope this helps! :)
