Its been strange enough not seeing his posts all the time. i think we should all take a journey through the archives and revisit his work here.

Farewell friend, may your journey be not complete, but a new adventure awaits you on the other side. You will be missed here Craig. Condolences and prayers to Deanne and your family.

Outrider was the first of the Veterans here to give me praise and encouragement. He made me feel welcome and gave me encouragement when I dared to try! He was a great man, an awesome artist and a true friend whose talent was only out shined by his humility. The world lost a great man, and I lost a great friend. I will see him someday in the future and hopefully he will approve of the way I have chose to use the gifts and lessons he taught me! We'll Miss you Craig! God Bless you and your family!

Dreadnok Dread 05-24-2010 03:21 PM

Strange is n't the word! Im still trying to understand how this could happen to an amazing person! I like dan and xander thought it would never come! He will be missed and worshipped from afar in alot of regards! As I go through his pictures to sort out what will be in the book I can't help but not believe that he is gone! you will be with us for ever, the best part is he's not feeling pain and is watching all of us in our joe rooms playing drinking smoking having a good time, every time I take a picture from now On I know you'll be there Big O! sorry deanne! I know how hard it is to lose a person you loved, I've lost parents, girlfriends, friends and now ive lost a brother! it will be hard but if you need anything at all dont ever hesitate to ask! DD He was actually the one that started calling me DD DOUBLE D! dammmm!

p.s. this is a copy and paste from outrider group on flickr! I can't type anymore from all the gushing tears! hope all will understand!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I didn't know Craig very well at all. I had messaged him in the past to compliment him on his work. His reply was humble and gracious. I think it told me everything I needed to know about him. A gentleman with true talent.

EasySimpleStuff 05-25-2010 04:47 AM

My deepest condolences to you and your family Deanne, may he rest in peace and feel no pain anymore.

Craigs passing is a sad, sad day for everyone who were lucky enough to know him. He is the best of us, be it on pure skill he always put on his pictures or on a personal level, he truly was one of a kind. He will be missed deeply...

I'm so saddened by this, that I can barely see what I'm writing...
and eventhough I'm not a very religious man, In times like these I hope I'm wrong...

Rest in peace Craig, rest in peace...

You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten...

I'm very sad for this... :(

i didnt have the pleasure to know him well, but he was like my master and ideal of inspiration: i always liked his pics and style, and i began to take pictures to Joes because of him. I found his pics some time ago, not here but on the web, and i was very fascinated about his style.

there are no words in moments like this,
i just can say i will have his pics in my head for inspiration forever.
thanks for your work Craig, rest in peace.

life can be so sad sometime.

I know I'm pretty much a lurker around here, but Black Major told me what happened and it took me a day to work up the nerve to come here and see what's been said. I'm reacting the same way a lot of people here are, even fireflyed a little bit. There's a lot of great work here that keeps me interested in Joe and Outrider's was definitely a master of his digital craft. But I have to say, some of the images you all have posted to honor of him would make him proud.

dracconian 05-25-2010 10:40 AM

when people pass away i try to think about what Einstein said about energy =mass and the other way around and that energy never dissipates it just changes form.

This goes for Outrider aswell.

we dont leave anyone behind they just change form.

I will light a candle tonight for him.

BrazilianRecondo 05-25-2010 12:42 PM

Rest in Peace Craig & my Condolences to his Family.

WildWeasel 05-25-2010 12:56 PM

At this point all I can do is echo everyones' sentiments on this sad loss to the Joe community and as a human being too. Outrider will be missed for sure, he did so much for all of us and asked for nothing in return. Rest in peace now Craig, you more than deserve it.

giTom 05-25-2010 02:57 PM

Sometimes words are difficult to find.

Outrider's photo skills were/are/is/always will be amazing. His aerial shots are flawless. Every single picture was exectued with care, precision and an attention to detail.

If his skills continue to encourage and inspire others to strive for those same skills, then his legacy will endure.

Forever missed, but never forgotten.
