i must really say the shows seems to get better from episde 6 and 7 i dont get why they waited so long for really get it going but if it keeps it up it might actually become pretty good if they just add in more of the characters.
the pace is slow even fort its short runtime they could learn alot from the venture bros how to really pack in more on a small timeframe. |

Thanks for the links. I was holding out for the Hub to post it online (the Dreadnok episode came up only a week later), but no luck. As for the story, how are they going to keep refuting the "A-Team" comparison if they keep rehashing the plots? A corrupt prison running gladiator battles inside: A-Team season 1 "Pros & Cons". Nice cameo by Law & Order, though. And Scarlett's new look was... interesting.

I must say, I'm not a fan of the show, I really don't like the look of it much. Resolute was much better.

I didn't like the way it looked at first when I saw the stills. But after watching the animation is pretty cool and the episode I saw was pretty awesome too :)

hate the art style, and hated the first 2 cartoons as i wanted something like the ole ones. but give it a chance after the first 2 or 3 and its great. i dont have the hub but i download them all from demonoid. i would like to have more characters like now, seeing the same ones are getting old. thats what kept sunbow so great, we got a ton of characters to choose from and you never knew who the story would be about. plus the fact that i was introduced to joe by the cartoons only and its still sets the standards for me.

Episode 11 is another reason this series wasn't made for me. Does anyone have kids who actually like the show? My 5 year old can't stand it (=won't watch it), but begs me to watch the Sunbow cartoon. They must be that different. I just hope they get over the blob Vipers.

The series is definitely not for everyone, especially if you're a purist. This series can be a bit much for the younger kids I think. The Sunbow series is a lot better for the younger kids, even though it can be very cheesy at times, while it is what got me into Joes, and I still enjoy it very much, I find it hard to watch at times without groaning. Where as Renegades is a bit more 'realistic' to a certain extent, even a bit more graphic at times as well, I am enjoying it so far, even though they have really messed with the Joeverse as us old guys know it.

That's too bad, really. I like this show. Good stories, decent animation. And lots and lots and lots of little easter eggs for the fans.
Like the hat of Wild Bill in the Knockoffs episode. It's not his usual western hat worn by every single previous Wild Bill incarnation, no, it's a blue version of Recondo's hat. Nobody is going to convince me that that is not a reference to the Tiger Force Wild Bill/Recondo mix-up, back in the vintage day. Less far-fetched, I seem to remember in one of the previous episodes they went to a little town called Breckinridge. An obvious reference to one of Marvel's dead Joes, Thunder, right ? Even lesser far-fetched, the title of this episode itself. Nobody's going to refer to human doppelgängers as knockoffs. Except if the humans are GIJoes and knockoffs is the usual term for other-brand-duplicates of GIJoe toys. Ah, good show, good show. Food for fanboys. |
I haven't seen any official word about Renegades being canceled. They have said that after this season finishes, Renegades will be on hiatus until after the new movie. Every show goes on hiatus between seasons, it's not unusual.

The look has not bothered me. It is the Stories that seem to be poorly done that really bug me.

Stuff happens on the show, but the only characters moving forward are the baddies. The Joes are in some outlaw limbo where the meet a guest star good guy or escape Flint/LJ over and over.
I thought the BAT design was bad. Oktober Guard's purpose in this series...odd. |
Renegades
I am actually enjoying it. Story is kind of cyclical, not at all shocking, (except for the Ripcord deal, which I thought was very interesting) but I'm okay with it. I would love to see someone get a hold of the show and raise the maturity bar (maybe for adult swim). I bet most people that watch the show are adults like us. It's too childish like the original 80's show for me to take too seriously at this point, but whatever I still watch it. I have been reading the comics as well. That helps

Remember that Renegades is not actually about war. That has been done already with the previous GI Joe animation. I, for one, am glad that the stories seem much more grounded and very different to old arah stuff. I watched a few episodes of arah I had on videotape. Ugh!! Definitely a product of Reagan-era Cold War. Terrible.
