Deanne,
I have had one of Craigs pictures as my wallpaper as long as I can remember. I have followed his battle closely and with sincere concern because my wife has also been battling this evil disease for two years. I cannot fathom your loss. I've often prayed for his recovery and now I pray that God will give you strength, comfort and the unexplainable peace that only He can provide. Paul Farlow, Capt, USAF T-6 Instructor Pilot |
Rest In Peace Craig. It was an honour to know you, and call you a friend. Like most I was inspired by his photos, that is the reason I originally admired him, however as I got to know him I began to admire him more for the fact he was a good person and an intensely loyal friend.
Deanne, I'm very sorry for your loss. Thank you very much for letting us know, I hope you can be strong during this trying time |
Descanza en paz Outrider

Safe journey and may peace be with you friend.

even though i knew this day was coming, it's still hard to swallow. in memory of our friend, i've decided to go to Otakon this year as Major Bludd. does anyone know what kind of cancer he had? i'd like to attach the appropriate ribbon when i go.

I know its selfish but I am not only sad for him and his family but I am also sad that I wont get to see new pictures from him, he really was the best and I am not saying that because I am sentimental he just was that damm good!
Not only was he a great photographer but he also was an amazing person allways having nice things to say on the boards. R.I.P Outrider! |
It pains me greatly to find out about this almost a week after. I have tried my best to keep an eye out for news here but my time is limited as of late. None the less I hope you have the opportunity to recieve my most sincere condolances for your loss. I am happy for the time I had to know Craig and share in his hobbie. It's almost redundant to say how much this community will miss his presance and passion.
Thank you Craig for all you have given us, may you rest in peace! |

This is Gung ho. I used to post here alot back in the day..
I was informed by my Brother that Outrider had died, and I was completely stunned.. Outrider was a big reason why I started taking pictures and was an inspiration to me. My mouth fell open when I heard he had died. The last time I was here, he was coming out of surgery and seemed to be doing fine.. Now, to here of his death, it just makes me sad.. I give my blessings to his wife and family.. I also give my thanks to Outrider, himself, for being such an inspiration to all of us. I think it's safe to say that JoeDios won't be the same without. But may his legend, and soul live on with the forums, and pictures you guys take. |
You Will Be Missed!

Hi everyone, I apologise that it has taken so long to catch up on everyone's lovely messages, prayers and support. Craig loved taking Joe pics, and he put an extraordinary amount of time into getting 'just the right shot'' :D I miss Craig very much, as I know you all do. He truly valued the friendships he had made. I hope that everyone is going ok.
for Mobius_1 - Craig had bowel cancer take care, Deanne |
Deanne, I saw Outrider at the last post on this thread & it made my chest hurt. I can't even pretend to imagine how you feel. I think you can see by this thread just how much he was loved. I hope you are doing well, thank you for your response back. Hope you check in on us from time to time just to say hi. Dave

I know, I'm so sorry. I had mentioned to Kurt that I would like to do a photo for Craig, but I wouldn't be able to create the masterpieces that he did :). & that I would put all the Cobra guys with the Joe guys and have everybody doing the wrong things!!! Ah well, I'll have to stick with the guys I know :D . Go easy on me if I get it wrong !! :D . I look forward to seeing Mobius'photo, I'm sure it will make me smile :) . thank you everyone, Deanne |

RIP man... you made some really good dioramas!

I had no plans to add a comment in this thread, for while I was sad at the news, Craig and I seldom spoke aside from perhaps commenting on one another's photos; I just didn't feel that it was my place to to be presumptuous enough to say anything.
But I suddenly have a small tribute that's more cool and funny and coincidental than sentimental, and I think he'd have gotten a kick out of it. I maintained a toy blog for a year or two (I'm not posting a link, because this isn't about self-promotion, and I abandoned that blog quite some time ago anyway). One two separate occasions, I posted on that blog a couple-few photos from JoeDios that had impressed me. I recently revisited my old blog for the first time in a year or so, and I checked out one of those two look-at-these-cool-photos-from-JoeDios posts, and wouldn't ya know it, it featured two photos from good ol' Outrider. I'd had no memory of it being his photos I'd chosen. It made for a cool, strangely poignant discovery. Rest in Peace, Craig. |
