To Hammerfel: what about "Joetube"?
 

Dear Hammerfel,
I was thinking...what about "Joetube"?
You'd merge the categories DIORAMAS, PHOTOS, ARAH, COLLECTIONS in 1, REVIEWS and FILES in 1. There are too much categories and too similar pics among these categories.
Then You'd create a new category (I call it "Joetube") where users can post only videos from Youtube of their G.I.JOEs whitout link that in the forum.
Is this a good idea? Is this techinically possible? What do You and other members think about it?
Anyway I really think that 6 categories like now are too much dispersive.
I hope I give good ideas.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Video section added. I have always thought the Diorama section should be renamed Diostory as a diorama is essentially what most people do for all there other posts in the other sections anyway. I like that there are 6 sections right now as I get to see a lot of pics at once when I hit refresh on the page each day. Just wish everyone would put the right stuff in the right section. Maybe merge the RAH and picture section back and call it GIJOE and then have an off topic section for all the pics of MU, MOTU, Star Wars and everything else so that those don't flood the Joe pics that a lot of the people are here to see. Just a couple thoughts on how I would change things if it ever happens. That being said, The only thing that really bothers me is that you can not look on the first page and see replys to images like we used to be able to see. Small thing....

Are there enough videos out there now to warrant a video section?

I definitely would hate if all the sections were merged. But a video and off topic section sounds like #winning.

I also agree. An off-topic section would be really cool. There aren't many places out there to do dios of other toy-lines and having an off-topic section would allow some users to put those in here without bothering the actually GI Joe posts. A video section is a neat idea, but I don't think there are enough videos to need its own section.

Diorama section turned Dio-Story is A+.
Other Toys section would be lovely!!!

It's my understanding so far there aren't many of us here doing stop motion or video reviews anyway? :confused: please do correct me if i am wrong though.

Maybe it should be polled to the forum and see how many of us would actually do a review or have their own videos to contribute first?

I'm also not sure in that case if there is enough people doing videos to warrant its own section, in the mean time maybe we could agree in principal any shared videos be posted to the forum? You could then post up a jpeg in the section with a link to advertise it on the front page. It would save hammerfel alot of work in making a section that may/maynot be used.

As for the new sections or restructure, again this might be best polled. this would give the site owner a better understanding of what the active and contributing members want to see more of.

Just my thoughts on it.
