Had my first run in with a Dollar General manager.
 

Spoke to the manager of one of the closest Dollar Generals to me yesterday. I noticed he was setting up a new plano near the toy aisle so I asked him if he'd already set up the toy plano, and if they'd possibly received the joe case. His reply was that they received, but he already bought them all... and then he told me that he planned on buying all of the troopers that came in. :mad:

Just thought I'd vent. It beats screaming and being removed from my office in a tight white jacket.

Call the "Corparate" office on his ass!!! Check all DG in your area if you want to avoid beef!?!

The only other one that has stocked them in town so far is right by where fellow board member Lt. Pinpoint lives, so he gets first dibs, lol. Lucky for me he's OCD and doesn't like empty holsters, so he got the trooper for me. I guess it's just a patience game at this point, they're still pretty new.

so is he a fellow collector then? might be a good chance for trade or have him order you cases

He was kind of a jerk about it, so I left it alone, but I'll head back sometime this week and maybe try to make nice.

Maybe being a raging douche bag is a requirement for being a Dollar General store manager ?

A nice one called me at home to let me know she found them (she had checked the numbers in her handheld scanner while I was there but couldnt' find them in the store).

I would report that guy, he's making the store look bad by selling their own wares off market and denying the buyers of the store what they want.

Apparently (at least according to my wife who worked retail for 18+ years), there's no real rule against setting stock aside for yourself. First come, first served, basically.

Of course, being a twit towards your customers is a good way to lose business, too.
