Hasbro news from the Con

Worst Joe Con Ever!
Do any of you remeber one single G.I. Joe Convention from the past with NO new offerings to show??? And then, once again, they treat us with a concept vault of INSANELY cool figures that we'll NEVER get in our hads?! The hell is this, torture?! Franky, at this point, it seems Hasbro simply has NO idea of what to do with the franchise. Not even with the release of a blockbuster movie it seems to help! Maybe it's time to create a left over "goodbye" collection and simply end this all. An honest way to let G.I. Joe die with some dignity. This or simply sell the franchise to another company that really CARES!
Sorry about this posting, but this "convention" and some of the stupid decisions they're making recently put the franchise in a more then pathetic way. |
Hasbro's boy's toys sales are down from previous years, that's part of why several lines have become "sucky", I think is the term. ;) Not much risk taking and things are getting kiddified also do to rising production costs.
Yeah, it's sad there's nothing new and a wave has been pushed back, because there's more production but no guarantee stores will order more. The concept vault offerings are cool, and I say that as someone who doesn't collect modern style. On the other hand, it's the same handful of characters again (Storm Shadow in '88 style might be Storm Shadow version 88!), though Gung-Ho needs some love and HEAT Viper does, too. Basically, if you loved the character diversity of vintage GI JOE, you have to get the club stuff. Why no online retailer Zombie 7 pack? I'm no zombie nut, but that seems like the sort of set that might have cross over appeal with customizers. |
