I wholeheartedly agree that Will Ferrell is a one-trick pony, but that trick is hilarious! However, I always enjoy the movies he has a hand in writing (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Semi-Pro) far more than the big studio movies that he simply gets cast in, such as Land of the Lost (although -- I do absolutely love Old School, which I don't think he helped to write at all).
Anyway, I've probably laughed more at Will Ferrell than any other comic actor currently working, with the possible exception of Steve Carell (which could explain why Anchorman is one of my favorite comedies of all time -- they're both in it! [along with the always-hilarious Paul Rudd]).
Aaanyway... Yes, I saw Terminator Salvation on Friday. I thought it was entertaining. I'm not a big Terminator person, so I really had no expectations going in. It was basically wall-to-wall action, with a few sparsely distributed "quiet" scenes. And the big supposedly-but-not-really secret cameo at the end was awesome -- possibly the best instance of CGI depicting a real person that I've ever seen!
I'm a big moviegoer. In the past few weeks, I've seen Wolverine, Star Trek (twice), and Terminator on their opening weekends. I missed Angels and Demons somehow. Looking at my calendar, I've got Up next weekend, followed in coming weeks by Land of the Lost and The Hangover (opening against one another!), Year One, Transformers, Public Enemies, Harry Potter, Funny People, G.I. Joe, and Inglourious Basterds. My summer's gonna be over before I know it...!
