I am on Photoshop 7, the later PS's have only a few add-ons that are not a major deal, but allow for a few more options. BUT the program is super expensive and I would be warry of it unless you are going to use it in some professional capacity (BTW I do so there you go).

but I would recommend useing gimp if you are looking for an alternative, it does almost everything PS does (with only a couple of minor exceptions that are really related to graphic design and such, things the adverage person would never use). I have it on my spare computer and use it all the time. If you are used to PS there is a bit of learning curve but there are PLENTY of tutorials online to help you out. It's not much different, but there are a few common items that are not the same on PS as on Gimp. Seriously I would highly recommend Gimp. Great program.
