Default What I'm up to...

I think I've given up on "A Matter of Anti-Matter" in favor of "Transformation". I had all these big plans for Matter but it just never worked out. Maybe it was good for a few chapters but I started thinking (probably too much) and it got bogged down. As for Transformation, I think I started a monster. After seeing Luke's dio, I think I started to understand just what can really be done in dios. So bare with me here since I'm just gonna babble and you can always just look at the pretty pictures.

This is most work area. I tend to use wood a lot for the sets simply because we ended up with a booty load of 2x4s from a friend. Plus, I like my sets strong and stable. At this time, I'm just buying these 48" long boards, cutting 'em in half and
doing whate'er I want with them. I usually use them for the base (floor). If you look hard enough, you can see my reference material!

Just more junk. There is a bench there that needs to be planted in the yard...

The point of this one is the big black thing sitting there. Made w/ 2x4s, I threw that together and thought, 'gee whiz, I should keep on going and make my own TTBP..." Well, I DID build it, it's a pos and I'm just keeping that upper section for whatever reason. An NAC can land on the top and beneath would be ops. I also have 2 spots for gun placements (ie; the Dart w/ rocket launcher)

I had to split this into a couple of posts...

Test shots. I'm working slowly on the lobby. I need to start working on a hanger too in which I'll probably steal Violentfix's ideas. It's nowhere near finished but if I can get it done pretty close the way I want, I'll be happy. AND it should look good in the dio...

For me, one of the scenes I was trying to concentrate on (and just testing how things will look and the spacing) is a shot from behind of Lt. Graydon talking to his troops.

These last 3 are just test shots to see how things will work camera-wise. No sense in building the thing then realize I can't take a shot from various angles! Notice, there are no walls. Those will be added later, most likely just boards resting on the set. And please, PLEASE do NOT ask about lighting because I haven't a clue yet! Enjoy!

Looking good so far! Once you get to the point where you're painting it and adding all the final details is when it makes the hard work feel like its been worthwhile for the big set stuff.

Man, that's excellent! It'd be sweet to have that much room and raw materials to work with. Looks like you're putting it to great use; the set looks like it'll be killer!
