Victory at Yorktown!

General George Washington coordinated with Marquis de Lafayette to block Cornwallis’ escape from Yorktown in September.
Cornwallis surrendered on October 19, 1781 (or sent a lackey to surrender since he was embarrassed.) This was the beginning of the end for the British in the War for Independence.

I'm sure I have joked in the past as well. But the French are our oldest ally.
I am grateful for George Washington's leadership during the War for Independence and the Foundation of our Republic.
