Crap... I need a new camera...
Hrn. So after doing some very failed attempts at night shots, I noticed a recurring red dot at the same spot every time.
Looking back on some successful pic... you can see it.
http://www.joedios.com/dioramas/sho...0818&original=1 To Interrogator's right, at about the same level as his hand.
http://www.joedios.com/dioramas/sho...0609&original=1 Pretty plainly visible just below Red Jackal's right breast.
Between this and the battery case starting to crack... it's time to get rid of this old thing and get something new (and hopefully better).
I'm not sure on camera prices or how much I'd be willing to spend yet, but if anyone has recommendations on cheap cameras that are effective for dio-shooting, I'd love to hear them.

I agree.....maybe I'm blind from staring at computer screens all day long, but I don't see a dot, either.
My beloved Pentax Optio fell on the concrete of my Garage floor and the internal LCD screen broke, rendering it useless. I went shopping for a cheap camera to tide me over until I could get a decent one. The best deal I found was a Fuji s700 on clearence at WalMart for $138.00. The Super Macro will focus at 1cm. It has a ton of features you would expect on high end professional cameras. I have been testing it around town just taking random shots and it seems to be awesome! I have a ton to learn about shutter speed and and other settings, but I must say, this camera SEEMS well worth the price! Remember, I'm a GI Joe collector..not a professional photographer....maybe someone with experience will think my camera is crap, but it does what I need it to and for a decent price IMHO!
hope that helped!

Sony
I'll go with G on this, I have a Sony Cybershot too and the older models you should be able to find on clearance now. their menu's and their options are pretty easy to figure out and use
The red dots, I can see on both pictures. It's what happened with my old camera.
best of luck finding a new one dude.

having only had Canon cameras, I can only recommend them, but the ones I have had have been easy to use and take good pics.
