I normally try to stay out of this but the fact is, the rebels have strong ties with Al Queda from on all the intel we have. That intel comes from our own State Dept. That makes this a no win situation for the US. Just my 2 cents.

What intel is that? The one where Gaddafi says it's true? This is a guy who brought terrorism to the rest of the world before Al Qaeda. He has to go.

The US state dept reported this last year. That the leaders of at least one faction of the rebels had connections with Al Qaeda and had supplied men and material in the war in Iraq during the US occupation. Its not good guys against bad. Its seems to be more of a Bad against bad but which is worse? I hate to say it but, with Gaddafi at least we know what we are dealing with. The funny thing is this is all know to the Obama administration but they are acting anyway.

I believe you are mistaken. There were no rebels last year. This started in February.
There was a report by some West Point Academy professor about Libyans heading to Iraq to fight us. However these are a minority. Those could probably still be in Iraq or Afghanistan or killed already. The majority of the rebel leaders are former Gaddafi loyalists. Their general was formerly part of the secret police. So no not all of them are Al Qaeda. Plus most of them are happy we are intervening. If they were a major part of AQ then that F-15 weapons officer would not have made it back.
The real problem that has been discussed was if AQ would re-emerge in these countries when their dictators are gone.

Someone did remember what happened when US helped some rebels in Afghanistan? They are fighting them now.
